I was given MRI contrast dye by (by MRI tech) that was not ordered. I had previous reactions to dyes, and also have asthma (all documented) Was told I would not be getting contrast until tech in MRI scanner truck told me I had to have it. I told her I could not have it, but was given contrast at her insistance. Immediately experienced severe anaphylactic reaction, but could not be transported into hospital (30 ft. into hospital) because 2nd radiology tech. stated door to hospital was locked! She then called ER desk; no one answered until possibly 2nd time. I was not treated for at least 20 minutes! Dr. told me Tech. had to dig in garbage to see what she had given me! I now have most-likely MS diagnosis. I was having symptoms prior to this, but was able to function, such as driving my car, walking around at college. After reaction and Cortisone treatments for spinal cord swelling, I remained in bed (at mother's house) for about 2 months. I could not walk without assistance or wheelchair to go to hospital for treatments. I am now unable to drive, go back to school, or walk any distance without severe fatigue, and I have had severe depression and panic attacks since this episode. I cannot attend school, and am unable to work. I would like to know if I should pursue for litigation/negligence, etc.? I would appreciate some response! Thank you.
