This is my situation. On Oct. of last year, 97, I was ill
and went to my physician with symptoms. Blood work
was drawn. I found out 1 week later my physician had
left. I was still ill but working and dealing with symptoms such as high blood pressure, headaches,
nose bleeds, stress, depression, flu like symptoms,
fatigue, body aches. Was given HBpressure meds..
but not working..been in the ER for hypertension...
8 times..within the year..also under other meds.
I was unable to c..another physician that was replacing the one who left..could not get thru on the
phone and appts..were set for months..later..I was
in no condition to put up with it..so the holidays came
and went..I started to feel a little better but not much.
I again began to feel these symptoms again only worse and finally got to c..a physician on Jan. 28th, 98. Only to find out that the blood work taken back
in Oct. showed that I was positive for Hepatitis. I was
not informed!!!!.The physician stated that a fax of that
blood result was sent to an Infectious Disease MD. by
my previous physican. Do I have grounds for a suit?
I called this ID MD..and the nurse said they never
received a fax. Also this Iinfectious Disease physician
was treating me with meds that result in these side
effects I was having thru meds..he had prescribed..but when I had asked him if it caused
High blood pressure he stated no..I checked the
side effects of this med..and High blood pressure is
a side effect. He had converse with my physician and
prescribed me to take another med...which I didnt take, because when I researched, this med..conflicted
with my original meds..Is this grounds for suit?I have
been off work due to this..and has caused tremendous hardship...mentally and physically as well
as financially.I now have an appt. to c..this physician,
the infectious disease doc.. on Monday..Feb.2..but
Im..afraid..too..should I?..not sure what to do..Please
respond before then. Im alone and dont have any
real legal advise or anyone to turn too..I had Hepatitis
for 4 months..now..and didnt know it..had sex..and
possibly..could have given my partner Hepatitis!
Please Help!! IN desperate need of counsel.
