I was diagnosed 2 years ago with endometrial cancer after moving from Georgia to New York. My question concerns the doctor I was seeing in GA that gave me a diagnosis of atypical hyperplasia. We then moved to New York and after transfering the insurance and getting an appointment set up 4 months had passed. At the first visit of the endocrinalogist she performed an endometrial biopsy and later called with the diagnosis of early cancer. I later found out that the earlier diagnosis of atypical hyperplasia was considered pre-cancerous, and would assume if there wasn't a delay of the following treatment, I could have possibly avoided the progression to cancer. Should the doctor I had seen in Georgia have informed me of the severity of my diagnosis? Is that caonsidered a neglegent act? I was never informed my initial diagnosis was of a serious nature. Thank you and sorry for the longevity of this letter. Kris Mason
