Can a healthy 44 year old woman get ARDS from: I am trying to find out if it could have come from E-coli in her pelvic fuild and none showned up in her blood stream. After surgery 6 hours later she was rushed to ICU. Bp of 50/24 requiring 3 units of blood. Continued to bleed for months. Ended up in ICU for two months. Recieved huge amounts of transfusions. She has a lot of damage to her body and is diabled. i was making furneal arrangements for her 5 weeks later. she made a turn around. She amazed everyone inculding the Doctor's. I am curious if blood lost and a low BP could have causeed her to go into ARDS. Sincerly Dolores Altman
